11. The WLC has always maintained that victims must be at the center of any process, this one included. This requires flexibility in relation to the process embarked upon, the rules governing the process and the end result that is sought. Since, in the view of the WLC (with which view I agree), the justice system is not geared towards a victim centered approach, the WLC has suggested that this Enquiry and this Panel could have been uniquely placed to develop and implement such a victim centered approach.

ULTOMIRIS is a prescription medicine called a monoclonal antibody. ULTOMIRIS is used to treat adults with a disease called Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH). It is not known if ULTOMIRIS is safe and effective in children.

193. Hasson did not himself enquire into or follow up on what he had been told by ‘KR’ or suggested to him by KS’ or others. He made no contact with the five women mentioned nor found out anything more about them the “rumours”. He was leaving the country two days later. He told this Panel that, In any event, he felt that he had said what he had to say.

To further protect the system from bacteria growth, the original sanitation drain lines were plumbed separately from the RO reclaim system. As a result, some of the used process water from production flows to the sanitary drain, while water that is more cost effective to reclaim is sent to the reuse system. These precautions helped ease management’s contamination concerns. 

164. But, it must be recalled that the first set and subsequent set of WLC representations were not made available for distribution amongst all those involved in this enquiry; there has been no opportunity to respond thereto. It would be unfair to accept and repeat these learnings and advices placed before us in a vacuum of discussion and debate. More importantly, the WLC’s submissions are premised upon the absolute truth of that which the WLC has read in the complaints which they have received and wished to tender into but were not received into evidence. It would be most improper of this Panel, absent any evidence of or therefore findings as to sexual harassment or other misconduct on the part of any individual or organization, to set out or rely upon the WLC submissions as to specific context or behavior in this regard.

As always with a Christo project, there was also the official barrage of statistics—this time emanating on pink paper. Christo and Jeanne-Claude were hardly at a loss when it came to playing up the project for the minor engineering miracle that it was, with its vast amount of custom-fabricated and -sewn material (three times more than was used for Running Fence), its 610 specially designed, hydraulically positioned anchors, linked by radiating lines to the 12-inch-wide octagonal booms that defined the outer edges of the floating fabric. Because every element had to be manipulated from the water (from 32 boats, including the rubber rafts), Surrounded Islands was logistically one of the most complicated projects Christo has undertaken. Partly because of the fragility of the bay habitat, the project generated seven public hearings, ten permit applications, $400,000 worth of environmental tests and several court appearances by the Christo legal team during its 30 months of preparation. Once the project was realized, it cost $15,000 a day for maintenance, island monitoring and security. (Nobody had ever noticed before that the bay, with its swarms of speeding power boats, was ecologically fragile, nor the islands themselves—chunks of earth, now litter strewn, that had been dumped into the bay by the Army Corps of Engineers when it deepened the Intracoastal Waterway early in the century.)

Prophet’s approach towards the servants and slaves was also enamouring. Anas bin Maalik (r.a) says; ‘I remained in service of Prophet (pbuh) for 10 years and not once did I even hear him say ‘oof” to me and he never asked me, ‘why did you do this?’ or, ‘Why didn’t you do that?’. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would have something to drink for ift’ar (breaking the fast) and something to drink for sahar (the meal before dawn) and sometimes he would have one drink for both (Shamaa’il e Tirmidhi). Once a person asked Prophet (pbuh), how many times we should ignore and forgive the mistake of slaves? Prophet (pbuh) did not respond. When person repeated same question third time, merciful Prophet (pbuh) said; ‘every day, seventy times’.

312. None of these named women were staff members or current volunteers or current interns at Equal Education. Two had been connected with EE in the past – ‘KK’ and ‘KS’. The Terms of Reference first required that the Human Resources Subcommittee receive evidence from those persons “spreading the rumours” whether or not there was an EE connection with any of the women named. Yet neither of ‘KR’ or ‘KS’ or any of the other persons included in emails about “rumours” and who received copies of the Human Resources Subcommittee Report and responded thereto in a manner which indicated they were party to the “rumours” ever came forward with anything approaching prima facie evidence as to any such connection. There was no evidence received because the supposed sources of “rumours” did not come forward.

MC38 mouse intestinal epithelial cancer cells were provided by J. Schlom [National Cancer Institute (NCI)], and B16F10 mouse melanoma cells were obtained from the American Type Culture Collection. Validation of cell lines was confirmed by polymerase chain reaction and by functional metastasis assay for the latter. Cell lines, both derived from C57BL/6J mice, were cultured in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM) + 10% serum (Life Technologies). Stable cancer cell lines, MC38 (H2B-RFP), MC38 (H2B-RFP/Cre, B16F10 (H2B-RFP), and B16F10 (H2B-RFP/Cre), were generated by retroviral transduction using pBABE-based retroviruses, and polyclonal populations were selected by antibiotic resistance and flow-sorted for bright fluorescence as appropriate. B16F10 (fl-dsRed-fl-eGFP) cells were generated by stably expressing a pMSCV-LoxP-dsRed-LoxP-eGFP-PURO construct (Addgene #32702) into the parental B16F10 cells. Primary MФ derivation was conducted from the bone marrow of R26R-stop-YFP or Act-GFP mice. To elicit MФs, cells were cultured for 6 days in DMEM + 15% serum supplemented with sodium pyruvate, nonessential amino acids (Life Technologies), and CSF1 (25 ng/ml; PeproTech).

A study compared the typing results of the ID CORE XT test with licensed serological reagents, the first FDA-approved molecular assay, and DNA sequencing tests. The results demonstrated comparable performance between the methods.
