Loss of chromosomes observed in hybrid clones occurred with temporal in vitro passage (fig. S3A); karyotype analyses of single hybrid cells revealed variable chromosome numbers (Fig. 1F), indicating that cell fusion contributes to tumor cell heterogeneity.
